ENGINEERING EDUCATION IN THE CONTEXT OF A NEW TECHNOLOGICAL PARADIGM OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The article analyzes the problems of modernization challenges to Russian engineering education in the context of modern technological transformation of society. It is shown that engineering activity and engineering education in the conditions of reformatting society based on science and technology are the main drivers of development. It is emphasized that a serious problem of the higher engineering school in the conditions of innovative development is its inconsistency with the requirements and criteria for training specialists for the needs of the scientific and technological social order. It is noted that an effective solution to the problem situation should be associated with the renewal of the educational space of the university on the basis of partnership with science and industry, using new tools and teaching technologies based on an interdisciplinary approach, as well as with the active inclusion of a wide range of social and humanitarian knowledge in the system training of engineering personnel. Ultimately, it is precisely such an innovative educational environment that can design learning for the skills of the future.
