Requirements for texts submitted to the editorial office of the Science Studies journal
1. Authors of materials submitted to the editorial board must guarantee the originality of the texts and confirm that they are not under consideration by the editorial offices of other publications.
2. The policy of intellectual property and copyright protection assumes that authors of texts submitted to the editorial office guarantee the absence of conflicts of interest with third parties.
3. The text of the article must be submitted as an electronic document created in Microsoft Word, with the extension .doc or .docx, by email: sciencestudies@inion.ru.
4. Articles with original research, reviews (including reports on scientific events), and abstracts are accepted for publication. The volume of research articles, reviews, and abstracts is 20,000–40,000 characters with spaces (excluding abstracts, keywords, and references); the volume of reviews is 10,000–15,000 characters with spaces.
Document layout: margins on all sides – 2.5 cm; orientation – A4 portrait; spacing – 1.15; font – Times New Roman, 14 pt; paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm. The text is justified. Word hyphenation is automatic. Quotation marks are «guillemets» (« »); for quotations inside quotations, use double quotes (“ ”). Instead of a long dash, use a medium dash with spaces before and after ( – ).
If words are abbreviated in the text, the full name of the term must be indicated at the first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
1. The UDC is indicated in the upper left corner.
2. The authors’ names with initials are highlighted in bold and centered. They must be provided in Russian and English.
3. Author information is provided in a page-by-page footnote in Russian and English and must include: full name, academic degree, title, position, place of work, city, country, e-mail, and ORCID.
4. The title of the article is written in one sentence in bold, uppercase letters, centered. It should briefly (recommended: no more than 12 words) and accurately reflect the content, subject matter, and results of the research. It must be provided in Russian and English.
5. Abstract: The abstract should briefly reflect the main content of the article. References to sources are not allowed in the abstract. Recommended length: 200–250 words. It must be provided in Russian and English.
6. Keywords are separated by commas. Do not place a period after the last keyword. Recommended number of keywords: 5–10. They must be provided in Russian and English.
7. The text of the article should be structured using subheadings. The words Introduction and Conclusion are highlighted in bold and separated by an empty line above and below.
8. Tables and figures presented in the text must have captions and be referred to in the text.
Table captions: The word Table and the table title are written above the table in bold, font size 10. The word Table is written in full, the number of the table is indicated (if more than one), and no period is placed at the end; the word Table is right-aligned, the table title is on a new line, centered.

The drawings are signed at the bottom. The word “Picture” is written in the abbreviated form “Fig.” with the number of the figure indicated (if more than one), followed by a period. The name of the drawing should be written immediately after the period. Center-aligned, font size 10.

All names, captions, and structural elements of graphs, tables, and diagrams are written in Russian. Under tables and figures, the source of the drawing or table must be indicated (author, book, journal, etc.). The font size in figures and tables should be at least 10 pt, Times New Roman. Diagrams and graphs are considered drawings. If screenshots (including software interfaces) are used, they should be accompanied by a detailed descriptive section. Tables and figures must be separated from the text by an empty line both above and below.
9. The sources of citations, statistics, and other scientific information provided in the article should be indicated in square brackets with the names of the authors (up to three), the year of publication, and page numbers:
[Tishchenko, 2004, p. 56].
If there are no authors or if there are more than three authors, the name of the document should be indicated. In references, it is allowed to shorten long titles by using an ellipsis with a space before and after:
[Session of the Supreme ..., 1985].
Information about several documents in a single reference should be separated by a semicolon:
[Berestov, 2012; Smirnov, 2013]
If there are several entries in the reference list with the same last name and year, letters are added to the year in both the reference list and in-text citation:
[Antrag ... , 2018a, p. 5–7] and [Antrag ... , 2018b, p. 4–6]
Additionally, the reference may contain volume numbers (issues), authors’ initials (if there are several authors with the same surname), as needed to identify the document.
If the text is quoted not from the original source but from another document, the words “Quoted by:” should be indicated at the beginning of the reference, specifying the source of borrowing.
Media materials, legal documents, and other sources are cited in page-by-page footnotes (numbering restarts on each page).
10. The list of references is provided at the end of the article in alphabetical order without numbering (first Russian-language literature). The list should contain only those sources that the author cited in the text.For books, indicate the number of pages; for journals, indicate the page range.If the article has a DOI, the assigned DOI number must be provided.For electronic publications, the date of access is written in parentheses in English: (date of access: 01.01.2022); for Russian sources, the same format applies: (date of access: 01.01.2022).
The list of references in English is provided separately after the list of references in Russian and is also arranged in alphabetical order, which may differ from the Russian-language list. It is necessary to indicate in parentheses the language of the source, for example, (In Russ.). If the source is in English, it does not need to be specified.
