SCIENTOMETRIC APPROACH TO THE DEFINITION OF AN INTERDISCIPLINARY FIELD OF INTERACTION BETWEEN COGNITIVE SCIENCE AND LIBRARY SCIENCE

Abstract

The article aims to determine the interdisciplinary field of interaction between cognitive science and library science based on scientometric analysis of leading journals presented in Russian (elibrary) and foreign (Google Academy) bibliographic databases, combined with expert analysis of the most cited article on cognitive science with the setting of related tasks for library and information science. The crisis situation of modern library and information science is determined, the need for its turn to social and cognitive research is put forward. The reflection of the leading domestic and foreign cognitive science journals in the GRNTI rubric is considered. The analysis of the h5 index and median citations of five leading cognitive science journals is given. The features of scientific and editorial policy in journals of this scientific direction are determined. A terminological analysis of the keywords of publications in these journals is carried out as a tool for determining the potential of interdisciplinary interaction. The model is presented in the form of a table of scientific, personal and organizational relations of cognitive science with library and information sciences. The analysis of the most popular article of this discipline published in the journal Psychological Bulletin & Review is carried out. The significance of the Bayesian inference for understand-ing the significance of the ideology and cognitive presets of the re-searcher, including in the field of library and information science, is determined. The article defines promising fields of research and areas of interaction of specific individuals and organizations in the field of library, linguistic and psychological research, as well as library, information, cultural and educational policy.
