The choice of the Sverdlovsk region for the analysis of regional practice in the study of problems and conditions for ensuring the socio-pedagogical safety of higher education is due to the fact that among the subjects of the Russian Federation, this region occupies a leading position in terms of the number of universities and the number of students. In 2024, Ural Federal University took the tenth place among Russian universities in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities ranking of educational institutions. This is the best indicator among all Russian federal universities. The analytical basis of the research was monographs, dissertation research, scientific articles, teaching aids, collections of scientific articles reflecting the sociopedagogical aspects of the safety of higher education in the Sverdlovsk region. We do not pretend in the article to give an exhaustive analysis of all the risks and threats to the security of higher education in the Sverdlovsk region, because scientific works performed on the basis of regional universities of the Sverdlovsk region, published in open sources from 2020 to 2024, were analyzed. The author's definition of the concept of “socio-pedagogical safety” is given in the work, the concept of “destructive behavior” is clarified. Based on the review and analysis of scientific publications, key methods, principles, and approaches to the organization of preventive and educational activities in the higher education space have been developed and substantiated.
