The article considers the prospect of forming a labor market for prompt engineers – specialists in compiling search queries, systematically working with generative neural networks, in particular with ChatGPT. It is proved that prompt engineering promises to become an extension of the professions of Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer. It shows how in the wake of the hype of generative neural networks and above all ChatGPT prompt engineers are currently being trained for this. The presence of such specialists with a high level of qualification and a wide range of skills should help make a breakthrough in the safe implementation of intelligent assistants – generative neural networks in science and the field of information support / science support. The relevance of these issues for the scientific community and the creators of modern Russian-language neural networks, including those focused on scientific content, is emphasized.
