HISTORICAL SCHOOL OF PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE AND SOCIO-HISTORICAL PROCESS

Abstract

The article examines the so-called historical school of philosophy of science, which marked an anti-positivist turn in philosophy of science. This turn is described as the understanding by philosophers of science that scientific thinking has not only a logical, timeless, but also a time-dependent, historical dimension. It is shown that the historical school of philosophy of science, having placed scientific and technological development and the socio-historical process in direct relationship, anticipated the advent of the current global social paradigm based on computer information and communication technologies.
