The article analyzes the epistemology of M. Polanyi with its key concept of personal implicit knowledge. It is shown that the development of the idea of personal implicit knowledge led M. Polanyi to the construction of an innovative system of the genesis of knowledge, which makes it possible to assess the social advantages and problems of scientific and technological development with scientific validity.
